Itinerary
Monday, 12 April 2027: Arrive Sarasota; Welcome Meeting & Dinner (D)
Schedule your flight into Sarasota to arrive no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. The tour begins at 6:00pm in the lobby of our hotel. After our Welcome Meeting we will enjoy a Welcome Dinner and get better acquainted. Overnight Sarasota - 5 nights
Tuesday, 13 April 2027: Sarasota Trolley Tour; Group Lunch; Ringling Mansion (B,L)
We set out to explore Sarasota with a guided sightseeing trolley tour of Florida’s famed “Cultural City.” The tour takes us through the historic neighborhoods of Indian Beach and the Rosemary Design District, where we’ll learn how Sarasota’s vibrant arts scene and impressive performing arts centers have shaped this coastal gem. Known also as “Circus City,” Sarasota served as the winter home for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. After lunch together, we’ll visit the Ringling grounds and step inside the stunning Ca' d'Zan mansion, the lavish Venetian-style home of John and Mable Ringling. Overlooking Sarasota Bay, this architectural treasure offers a fascinating glimpse into the glamour and grandeur of the Roaring Twenties, with richly decorated rooms, elegant details, and stories of the Ringlings’ extraordinary lives and vision for Sarasota as a cultural destination.
Wednesday, 14 April 2027: Anna Maria Island Tour; Dolphin Tour (B)
Today we will visit Anna Maria Island, known for its white-sand beaches and clear turquoise and emerald waters. It is a beautiful seven-mile stretch, often referred to as the best of the Gulf Coast. On a guided walking tour, we’ll learn about the fascinating women who shaped the island’s history. This afternoon, we’ll take a tour on the water to spot playful dolphins, sea turtles, and possibly manatees. At low tide, the exposed grass flats host abundant amounts of birds wading. We return to Sarasota this evening.
Thursday, 15 April 2027: Kayaking through Mangroves; Sarasota Street Food Tour (B,O)
Today begins with a kayaking tour through the mangroves in search of manatees on Lido Key. Travel through the winding waterways created by the roots of trees and shrubs that grow upward and become intertwined, forming a tunnel. These tunnels are one of Florida's best-kept secrets, with access to diverse marine life including manatees, bright pink roseate spoonbills, blue herons, and stingrays. We return to Sarasota and enjoy a walking food tour offering a guided experience through a number of distinctive local restaurants, featuring generous tastings, dessert, and insights into the city's history and architecture. This provides a relaxed way to sample and explore Sarasota's vibrant culinary scene.
Friday, 16 April 2027: Siesta Key and Free Time; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
We're off to Siesta Key. This barrier island off the coast of Sarasota is ranked as one of the top beaches with it's white quartz, soft to touch, sand. It's like talcum powder! The day is yours to spend as you wish. Relax on the beach, ride the town trolley, stroll the Siesta Key Village shops and cafes or perhaps we'll visit Turtle Beach for shelling. There is no shortage of things to do. We'll return to Sarasota in the afternoon and enjoy dinner together one last time to share favorites memories of the week.
Saturday, 17 April 2027: Return Home from Sarasota (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Based on the departure time you provide WTT, your Tour Leader can assist with organizing travelers into small groups so you can ride-share to the airport if you wish.

As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.

What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Leader when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Leader will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Leader.
Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian and gluten-free dietary requests can be accommodated on this tour with limited selections.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
In general the temperature, rainfall and humidity levels vary based on the time of the year. We suggest you monitor weather apps leading up to the time you depart for the most current information.
For This Trip You May Want—
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Refillable water bottle
- Swimsuit and cover up
- Sunglasses, sunscreen and hat
- Smart-casual wear if you'd like to dress up a bit for dinners
- Lightweight but warm jacket/sweater for the cool mornings and evenings or the unusually brisk day
- Inexpensive rain poncho or travel umbrella, just in case
Good Packing Habits —
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
- We strongly recommend you bring only one suitcase plus small shoulder bag/day pack/purse.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings.
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: the number of meals you are responsible for, the amount of money you like to have on-hand for snacks and drinks, and your individual shopping interests and habits. Be sure to keep cash on hand for sharing restaurant tabs, cabs, tips, and smaller purchases. More and more, restaurants are no longer allowing groups to split the bill. Therefore, you might want to have cash-on-hand for meals on your own when dining with others in the group.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
Can I transfer my deposit to another tour?
