Itinerary
Sunday, 13 June 2027: Arrive San Franciso; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. The tour will begin at the hotel at 6:00pm with our Welcome Meeting followed by dinner together to get acquainted and discuss our trip. Overnight San Francisco - 2 nights
Monday, 14 June 2027: San Francisco City Tour; Free Afternoon (B,L)
San Francisco is one of the world’s great cities with a golden bridge, steep hills, a sparkling bay, and streets lined with elegant Victorian homes. We'll tour of San Francisco this morning by tuk-tuk! Pass all the iconic stops including Lombard Street — the famous “Crookedest Street in the World” as well as the Presidio and it's amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are plenty of photo opportunities! We share lunch together and the afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish. Consider a ride on one of San Francisco's famous cable cars, try riding in one of the city's new autonomous (driverless) vehicles, spy the sea lions near the piers or book a ferry to Alcatraz. There are so many things to see and do. Your Tour Director will have further suggestions.
Tuesday, 15 June 2027: Drive to Yosemite National Park (B,L)
After breakfast, we'll get on the road to Yosemite. It's about a 4-hour drive, so sit back and enjoy the lovely Northern California scenery. Yosemite Valley is just seven miles long and less than a mile wide, but it ranks higher in "scenery per square foot" than perhaps anywhere else in the world. We'll arrive in time to stop at the Visitors Center, get our bearings, and get settled at the hotel. The evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. Consider exploring area around the hotel. Overnight Yosemite area - 3 nights
Wednesday, 16 June 2027: Morning Exploration; Yosemite Valley Floor Tour (B)
First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles are deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more. This morning we'll take in the grand vistas and hopefully beat the crowds and heat of the day. Your Tour Director will have several options for exploring based on your abilities and desires. This afternoon, we'll regroup board the park's tram to see many of the park's most famous sites: Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View and Bridalveil Falls. This park is truly a testament to the strength of granite and the power of glaciers. We'll then make the short drive to what some say is the most spectacular viewpoint anywhere--Glacier Point. From here we can look down into the valley and across to Half Dome to see climbers making their ascent. It's an a-m-a-z-i-n-g view.
Thursday, 17 June 2027: Yosemite Park (B,L)
There is so much to see here in Yosemite. Your Tour Director will point you to many of the park's highlights this day. Mariposa Grove will likely be on the list, the largest sequoia grove in the park and home to more than 500 Giant Sequoia trees. Interestingly, the national park idea is rooted in the Mariposa Grove. In 1864 while embroiled in the Civil War, President Lincoln signed landmark legislation protecting the grove for "public use, resort and recreation." For the first time in US history, the federal government set aside scenic natural areas to be protected for the benefit of future generations.
Friday, 18 June 2027: Drive to Fresno; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
We'll have a leisurely morning in the park before making our way to Fresno. We regroup this evening to enjoy our Farewell Dinner together and recount our adventures. Overnight Fresno - 1 night
Saturday, 19 June 2027: Return Home from Fresno (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Make your return flight at your convenience. Based on the departure time you will provide WTT, your Tour Director can assist in coordinating ride-shared from the hotel if you so wish.

What do others say about this tour and traveling with WTT?
How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.
Note: Certain room-types may be unavailable at the time you make your reservation. If a room-type is unavailable the choice will be greyed out.
- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details

Your Responsibilities as a Solo Traveler
As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.
WTT tours are not suitable for anyone whose mobility is challenged or compromised. If you struggle with walking, standing or negotiating stairs or if you are in doubt as to your ability to meet the physical activity requirements, you should not sign up for this trip.
What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Director when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O=Other). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Director will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Director.
Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian and gluten-free dietary restrictions can be accommodated on this tour with limited selections.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
In general the temperature in Yosemite at this time of year will be a hot and dry 90 degrees with daily lows around 60 at night. Occasional rain in the form of an afternoon thunderstorm is typical. We suggest you monitor weather apps leading up to the time you depart for the most current information.
For This Trip You May Want—
- Sturdy, comfortable hiking shoes and wool hiking socks (if you plan to hike)
- Collapsible hiking poles
- Refillable water bottle
- Water-resistant jacket
- Fleece jacket for cool mornings or evenings.
- Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
We will use the WTT Coach. Luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of this vehicle and the requirement that all travelers be able to manage their own belongings without assistance.
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- You may bring one suitcase plus small shoulder bag/day pack/purse.
- Maximum suitcase size: 22-24 inches in height. This is the size of bag that fits into the overhead bins of aircraft. Suitcases larger than this will not fit properly in the WTT coach; don't bring them.
- The weight of your bag should not exceed 30 pounds as you will need to lift it into the coach luggage compartment.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach and load it on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient. The possibility of steps exist at most hotel entrances.
What are the phone and internet recommendations for this tour?
How much money should I bring on this tour?
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
