Itinerary
Friday, 22 January 2027: Arrive Arrecife, Lanzarote; Welcome Dinner (D,R)
Schedule your arrival into the Arrecife, Lanzarote no later than 4:00pm. Grouped transfers are provided from the airport to the hotel based on arrival time. The tour begins at 6:00pm in the hotel lobby with a Welcome Meeting. We then enjoy a Welcome Dinner together to get better acquainted and discuss our upcoming adventure. Overnight Lanzarote - 1 night.
Saturday, 23 January 2027: Timanfaya National Park; Board Ship in the Evening; Welcome Dinner (B,D)
We're up early to check out of our hotel and head to Timanfaya National Park — a landscape like no other, where dark volcanic rock meets the turquoise Atlantic. We board the park shuttle to ride the Volcanoes Route through the Fire Mountains, formed by eruptions just 270 years ago, with geothermal demonstrations showing the raw power still simmering underfoot. We then visit Haria, a peaceful village with white architecture nestled in the "valley of a thousand palm trees," before heading to port to board our ship. Settle into your cabin and then we enjoy dinner together. We remain in port overnight. Overnight Belles Des Oceans - 7 nights
Sunday, 24 January 2027: Lanzarote Free Day (B,L,D)
Our ship remains in port today. Enjoy relaxing by the pool or sit in on a history lecture provided in the lounge. Your Tour Director will have suggestions should you want to explore Lanzarote further. We regroup late this afternoon to admire the sunset view of Arrecife from the sundeck before dining together. There is evening entertainment on board to enjoy for anyone who is interested. Tonight, our ship cruises towards Fuerteventura.
Monday, 25 January 2027: Fuerteventura Island Tour; Cruise to Gran Canaria (B,L,D)
Wake along the shores of Fuerteventura, one of the oldest of the Canary Islands. Known as the "desert in the ocean", the island has a striking similarity to the Sahara Desert. This morning we discover the heart of this island. Our first stop takes us to Mirador de Morro Velosa for panoramic views of volcanic valleys, rugged ridges and scattered villages. We make our way to Betancuria, the oldest European settlement in the Canary Islands. Wander cobblestone streets with whitewashed walls, small artisan workshops, and the centerpiece of village life — the Church of Santa María. We continue to Tiscamanita for a tour of an aloe vera factory where we learn about this island's most iconic crop and how it's leaves are harvested and made into aloe vera gel and cream . Once back on board, we continue cruising toward Gran Canaria.
Tuesday, 26 January 2027: Free Day; Cruise to La Gomera (B,L,D)
Gran Canaria is often described as a continent in miniature with its lush forests and dramatic cliffs in the north, long sandy beaches stretching along the south the island. Today is yours to spend as you wish. Consider exploring the historic districts or stop by a local restaurant to try an island favorite, papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes). Perhaps join a planned excursion to Las Palmas and the Bandama Caldera. You may also elect to enjoy the ship amenities and take in the stunning coastlines from onboard. We regroup this evening for dinner together while we sail toward La Gomera. For those with any energy to spare, consider dancing in the lounge!
Wednesday, 27 January 2027: Free Time; Garajonay National Park Tour; Cruise to La Palma (B,L,D)
Our ship continues toward La Gomera, an island where rugged terrain and human ingenuity have long existed in harmony. This afternoon, we venture into Garajonay National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site unlike anything else in the archipelago. Ancient forests are often draped in trade-wind fog give the park an ethereal, almost otherworldly quality that is impossible to forget. During our time on land, we pass local villages. El Cedro is a small, traditional village known as a Hamlet. We then visit Agulo and stroll the well preserved cobblestone streets past traditional village architecture. Enjoy a demonstration of Silbo Gomero, the remarkable whistled language islanders have used for centuries to communicate across the valley. Back on board, we cruise toward La Palma.
Thursday, 28 January 2027: Day at Leisure; Cruise to Tenerife (B,L,D)
We spend the morning cruising to get to the "Beautiful Island" of La Palma. Feel free to join the lecture in the lounge, or lounge by a pool. The morning is yours. We then dock in Santa Cruz de la Palma, the island's capital and hopping seaside town. This tiny corner of paradise also has stunning views and well-preserved beaches. Your Tour Director will have suggestions for things to do. We continue cruising this evening toward Tenerife. Join the ship's crew on the sun deck for a cocktail together and enjoy a festive evening.
Friday, 29 January 2027: Morning at Leisure; Puerto de la Cruz; Evening Entertainment (B,L,D)
Today we visit Tenerife, the largest island in the Canaries with a spectacular view of Mount Tiede, the highest point in Spain at 12,198 feet. The morning is yours to spend how you wish. We come together this afternoon, we visit the picturesque seaside town of Puerto de la Cruz to walk down the charming streets lined with lush gardens, beautiful mansions and palaces, and quaint churches. The lookout point, Mirador de Humbolt offers sweeping views of the Orotova Valley and its banana plantations. Visit Sitio Litre Garden, home to the most extensive collection of orchids on the island and a 600 year old succulent known as a Dragon tree. We return to the boat late this evening to enjoy dinner and entertainment.
Saturday, 30 January 2027: Disembark; Tenerife Day at Leisure (B,D)
Enjoy breakfast on board before we disembark at 9am. We transfer to our hotel and have a chance to settle in. This day is yours to explore Tenerife as you wish. Your Tour Leader will have an itinerary of her own so you may join her. Tonight we will share a Farewell Dinner together and recount our favorite memories of the week. Overnight Tenerife - 1 night
Sunday, 31 January 2027: Return Home from Tenerife, Canary Islands (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Schedule your return flight at your convenience. Tenerife South Airport handles most international flights and is about a 30-minute cab ride from the hotel. The cost of the transfer is not included. Your Tour Director can help coordinate ride shares if you so wish.

Standard health insurance plans often do not cover medical emergencies in other countries. As a solo traveler, insurance is essential to provide support and care coordination in the event of a medical emergency. It must cover air-evacuation from the destination as a result of a medical emergency during the trip.
Suggested companies for Emergency Medical/Evacuation Insurance are: Allianz Travel Insurance and World Nomads.
Trip Cancellation / Trip Interruption Insurance is not included in the cost of the tour. It is your responsibility to determine the amount and type of coverage you require to recoup some or all of your travel investment, whether you cancel, are unable to complete the tour, or the tour cannot operate. Section 4.0 of WTT Terms & Conditions explains what will happen to your payments in the unlikely event that your tour cannot operate. You can purchase travel insurance from any provider you choose. To get an idea of rates, please go to NTA Travel Protection Plan (Enter 206063 for the "Tour Operator Location #") or TravelGuard.

How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.
Note: Certain room-types may be unavailable at the time you make your reservation. If a room-type is unavailable the choice will be greyed out.
- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details
How Active is this Tour?
- 70% Easy
- 30% Moderate (walking tours, multiple flights to get to and from the destination)
Your Responsibilities as a Solo Traveler
As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.
WTT tours are not suitable for anyone whose mobility is challenged or compromised. If you struggle with walking, standing or negotiating stairs or if you are in doubt as to your ability to meet the physical activity requirements, you should not sign up for this trip.
What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Director when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O=Other). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Director will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Director.
Dietary Restrictions on International Tours: WTT has limited to no control over food selections or variety from meal-to-meal, especially at hotels. While we do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and ensure variety of options, we cannot guarantee either.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
In general the temperature, rainfall and humidity levels vary based on the time of the year. We suggest you monitor weather apps leading up to the time you depart for the most current information.
For This Trip You May Want—
- Shoes that are comfortable for walking
- Swimsuit with a cover-up or sundress
- Sandals, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
- Medication for motion sickness if you are prone
- A lightweight sweater or jacket for breezy or cool evenings on the ship.
- Smart-casual wear for dinners and other evening activities
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- We suggest you bring one bag weighing no more than 50 lbs, plus a small shoulder bag/day pack. Suitcase storage space is limited in the ship's cabin.
- When not aboard ship, you will be responsible for managing your own luggage.
- There will be porters to assist you prior to boarding the ship. If you use this service, be sure to tip accordingly.
What are the health recommendations for this tour?
The Canary Islands has a high standard of health. Tap water is generally safe to drink. No specific vaccinations are required.
What are the phone and internet recommendations for this tour?
- You should understand what your current cell phone plan includes in terms of data and minutes. Some, like certain T-Mobile plans, include an international package.
- Contact your cell phone service provider before departing about adding an international calling plan. Most carriers have flat daily rates which will allow your US-based phone to be functional upon arrival in a foreign country.
- Managing data while traveling internationally is important. Using WiFi when available and communicating through apps like What's App help you manage data usage while traveling.
- Learn how to make an international call BEFORE you leave. Consult your cell provider and check out the website www.HowtoCallAbroad.com.
- At sea, you can connect your device(s) to the onboard GSM/3G network. Your service provider will automatically send you the terms and conditions of use for this service. You will be able to make calls, send messages, or use the Internet through this network’s roaming services. The GSM network will be turned off once the ship enters a port.
- When the ship is in a port, you will be able to receive and make calls via your international calling/service plan according to the country you are visiting.
PLEASE CHECK THE SETTINGS FOR YOUR DEVICE
- Once you are on board, but before you connect to the Internet, check the settings for your device(s). Limit downloading videos and large-volume files. Automatic updates to your PC, tablet, and smartphones will affect the speed and cost of your connection. You probably have automatic updates for apps on your devices that you are not aware of. It is recommended that you deactivate these updates while you are on the cruise.
What are the electricity requirements for this tour?
Europe operates on 220V or 230V, which differs from most of North America and most European countries use the Europlug (also called the C-plug). Most of today's electronics (laptops, phone chargers etc.) are multi-voltage and will work worldwide automatically without a transformer, but will require a standard European plug adapter. Do not bring any heating appliances (curling iron, flat iron, etc) unless they are specifically rated as multi-voltage. The ship has hairdryers, so no need to bring that.
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: whether the country you are visiting is a cash-based society, the number of meals you are responsible for, your individual shopping interests and habits, and tipping expectations.
- The official currency of Spain is the Euro.
- ATMs are typically the best way of obtaining local currency; they are found in most airports and tourist destinations. ATMs of major banks often give much better exchange rates than currency-exchange kiosks.
- If using a debit card, it is good practice to limit the amount of cash available in the account and simply transfer money from another account if you need more at any point on tour. Always use caution when withdrawing money.
- Many travelers feel more comfortable having local currency before they depart for the tour. You may be able to order currency from your bank.
- Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.
- Credit cards are widely accepted, although many cards charge a foreign transaction fee. Be sure to investigate your card of choice as there are many that do not impose these fees and are better suited for international travel.
- Taxi drivers prefer cash so plan accordingly. A typical ride from the airport to the Arrecife Gran Hotel is around Euro 10-15. The ride from Ole Tropical Hotel Santa Cruz de Tenerife port to the airport is around Euro 30-45.
- If a merchant gives you the choice between making your transaction in USD or the local currency, always choose the local currency, to avoid dynamic currency conversion which includes a conversion fee.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping the ship's crew - it's recommended to budget Eur10 per day.
- You are not required to tip guides during shore excursions. However, if you feel you have received excellent service, a small tip is always appreciated.
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters or other individuals who provide service to you at the hotel or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Director for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
