Itinerary
Sunday, 20 September 2026: Arrive Green Bay, Wisconsin; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival into Green Bay no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. The tour begins at 6:00pm in the lobby of the hotel with our Welcome Meeting. We'll make introductions and then enjoy dinner together to get acquainted and discuss our upcoming adventure. Overnight Green Bay - 2 nights
Monday, 21 September 2026: Green Bay Botanical Gardens; Hazelwood and Astor Neighborhood Tour (B,L)
This morning we'll stretch our legs and explore the stunning Green Bay Botanical Gardens—47 acres bursting with over 120,000 tended plants and a focus on sustainability and hands-on programs. After lunch together, we'll make our way to the historic Astor neighborhood. Here we'll discover the architecture on the banks of the Fox River and tour Hazelwood, one of the earliest houses in the county. This home tells the story of Green Bay’s growth from a frontier settlement to a bustling community. We return to Green Bay late this afternoon and the evening is yours to spend as you wish.
Tuesday, 22 September 2026: Door County Maritime Museum; Trolley Tour (B,L)
We depart Green Bay this morning for Door County. Our first stop is Sturgeon Bay, which is essentially the "door" to the Door. The city sits at the end of the Sturgeon Bay canal where it empties into the city's namesake bay. Here we'll visit the Door County Maritime Museum which showcases the area's maritime history including the life of anglers, captains and lighthouse keepers. We then make our way to Egg Harbor, which along with Fish Creek to the north, begins a string of quaint towns that define the peninsula. We'll step aboard an "Old Time" trolley and learn more about what makes Door County so special. We arrive at our hotel late this afternoon. Overnight Door County - 3 nights
Wednesday, 23 September 2026: Whitefish Dunes State Park; Kayak at Cave Point; Cana Lighthouse (B,L,D)
To better appreciate the unique geography of Door Country, we begin at Whitefish Dunes State Park. These sand dunes overlook Lake Michigan and protect the area's natural eco system. Walk along one of the many trails and learn about the dune environment before we head to Cave Point County Park. This park-within-a-park is known for its wave-worn limestone cliffs, underwater caves and stirring view of Lake Michigan. But it's the view back toward the cliffs we're most interested in and so we settle ourselves into sea kayaks for a guided paddle around...no kayaking experience is necessary. Weather permitting, we may even be able to venture into a couple of accessible caves. On the way back to the hotel, we'll swing by Cana Lighthouse. We'll then have time to freshen up before heading back out to a fish boil for dinner. A Wisconsin tradition, a fish boil is as much a theatrical spectacle as a culinary experience.
Thursday, 24 September 2026: Peninsula State Park: Eagle Bluff Lighthouse & Eagle Tower; Farewell Dinner (B,L,D)
We begin our day at nearby Peninsula State Park. High bluffs, sandy beaches and an 1860s lighthouse make this park the "crown jewel" of Door County with more than 20 miles of hiking and biking trails, a beach, an outdoor theater, an observation tower and a lighthouse. Looking over glistening waters, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse has guided sailors through the dark of night and storms for more than 100 years and is still in operation today. We'll also make time to climb Eagle Tower which offers panoramic views of the park, surrounding islands, the Upper Michigan shoreline and the village of Ephraim. The tower is 60 feet high with the top observation deck sitting 253 feet above Green Bay. To reach the top of the tower, you can either climb 100 steps or take an accessible 850-foot ramped canopy walk that winds above the tree line. We'll return to the hotel and relax before regrouping for our Farewell Dinner.
Friday, 25 September 2026: Return Home from Green Bay
We depart from Egg Harbor together early this morning, returning to the Green Bay Airport by 9:30am. There is no included breakfast this day. Make your return flight to depart Green Bay no earlier than 11:30am.

What do others say about this tour and traveling with WTT?
How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.
Note: Certain room-types may be unavailable at the time you make your reservation. If a room-type is unavailable the choice will be greyed out.
- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent out.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details
How Active is this Tour?
- 65% Easy
- 35% Moderate
Your Responsibilities as a Solo Traveler
As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.
WTT tours are not suitable for anyone whose mobility is challenged or compromised. If you struggle with walking, standing or negotiating stairs or if you are in doubt as to your ability to meet the physical activity requirements, you should not sign up for this trip.
What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Leader when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O=Other). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Leader will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Leader.
Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian and gluten-free dietary restrictions can be accommodated on this tour with limited selections.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
In general the temperature, rainfall and humidity levels vary based on the time of the year. We suggest you monitor weather apps leading up to the time you depart for the most current information.
For This Trip You May Want—
- Shoes that are comfortable for trail walking
- Clothing that layers easily
- Refillable water bottle
- Athleisure wear comfortable for kayaking
- Jacket/sweater for the cool mornings and evenings or the unusually brisk day
- Rain jacket or inexpensive poncho, just in case
- Bathing suit for the hotel in Egg Harbor.
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
We will use the WTT Coach. Luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of the vehicle and the requirement that travelers manage their belongings on their own.
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- You may bring one suitcase and a day pack or shoulder bag to keep with you in the coach.
- Maximum suitcase size: 22-24 inches in height. This is the size of bag that fits into the overhead bins of aircraft. Suitcases larger than this will not fit properly in the WTT coach; don't bring them.
- The weight of your bag should not exceed 30 pounds as you will need to lift it into the coach luggage compartment.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach and load it on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient. The possibility of steps exist at most hotel entrances.
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: the number of meals you are responsible for, the amount of money you like to have on-hand for snacks and drinks, and your individual shopping interests and habits. More and more, restaurants are no longer allowing groups to split the bill by charging to multiple credit cards. Therefore, you might want to have cash-on-hand for meals on your own when dining with others in the group.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
