Come experience a study in contrast as we tour the Everglades, one of the most unique US National Parks, to search for alligators and ride an air boat through the River of Grass. We then embark on one of America's great road trips—the Overseas Highway. Key West is our ultimate destination and we will indulge in the quirky "island time" ambiance. Add in an optional schooner sail or ferry to yet another National Park, Dry Tortugas. If you've never been to this part of Florida, you’re in for a real treat: it’s wild, it’s beautiful, it’s like nothing you've ever seen. Bring your curiosity, your sunscreen, and your sense of adventure!

Itinerary
Saturday, 07 November 2026: Arrive Miami International Airport; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. If you'd like to see more of Miami, consider adding on the Early Arrival package which includes a ticket for the Hop On / Hop Off bus, which is the most flexible and expeditious way to see many of the city's landmarks and neighborhoods. The tour begins at 6:00pm in the lobby of the hotel with our Welcome Meeting. This evening we will get better acquainted during our Welcome Dinner and discuss the week's adventures ahead. Overnight Coral Gables - 2 nights
Sunday, 08 November 2026: Everglades National Park (B,L,O)
This morning we venture out into the Everglades, the country’s only sub-tropical preserve. Though only about an hours' drive from the hustle and bustle of Miami, this National Park is a world away. Rich in bird life, it is also the only place where alligators and crocodiles co-exist. We'll get oriented with a tram tour that takes us deep into the "river of grass" where the scenery is spectacular and we're likely to see gators. We will then venture deeper into the park aboard swift air boats that fly across the surface of the water for yet another view of this important ecosystem. We return to Coral Gables late this afternoon and the evening is yours to enjoy as you wish.
Monday, 09 November 2026: Vizcaya Museum and Gardens; Travel the Overseas Highway to Key West (B,L)
Today we pay a visit to the lovely Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. This property, a National Historic Landmark, allows guests to step back in time and experience some of "Old World Miami". James Deering began construction in 1914 with the vision of building an estate that would rival those in Europe. We will tour the estate, including the European-inspired gardens which are among the most elaborate in the US. After lunch here, we begin to ease ourselves into "island time" as we travel the Overseas Highway, one of America's truly spectacular road trips, ultimately arriving at "the end of the road" in Key West late this afternoon. After checking into our hotel, the remainder of the day and evening are yours to enjoy as you wish. Overnight Key West - 3 nights
Tuesday, 10 November 2026: Hop On/Hop Off Trolley; Hemingway House (B)
We start our day taking advantage of the Key West Hop-On / Hop-Off trolley which provides a wonderful overview of the primary points of interest on this tiny island. These include the exterior of the Little White House, the vacation home of President Truman, and Southernmost Point, the well...southernmost point in the continental USA. We'll stay together at least until the Hemingway House, where we'll jump off and enjoy a tour through this lovely Spanish-Colonial abode nestled in the heart of Old Town Key West. From 1931-1940, American Nobel-winning author Ernest Hemingway lived and worked here. We'll walk through the preserved rooms filled with Hemingway memorabilia. Your trolley pass is good all day and makes navigating Key West easy.
Wednesday, 11 November 2026: Free Day OR Optional Tour to Dry Tortugas OR Optional Sailing Excursion (B,D)
We've left today at leisure so you can do whatever interests you most. For some, that may mean spending the day lounging poolside or exploring the many quirky shops that line Duvall Street. If you are feeling more adventurous, consider one of two optional activities for today: an all-day excursion to Dry Tortugas National Park or a schooner sail. Dry Tortugas is one of the least-visited national parks due to its remote location about 70 miles off of Key West. Board a ferry and learn how pirates, prisoners and an epidemic contributed to the island's history. The boat leaves at 7:30am and returns at 5:00pm. Or consider a sailing & snorkel excursion aboard a schooner. This boat departs at 10:00am and returns around 4:30pm. Snorkel gear, kayaks, fresh fruit and healthy snacks, soft drinks, water and an end-of-day beach happy hour with wine and beer are all included in this excursion. You have until Final Payment to add either of these options to your reservation. We'll regroup for a very casual dinner at the hotel to say our farewells and soak up the island vibe as the sun sets.

For This Tour You May Want—
- Ear plugs - the airboat ride can be loud
- Smart-casual outfit if you'd like to dress up a bit for dinners
- Swimsuit & Sunscreen - both hotels have pools
- Hat
- Binoculars
- Insect repellent
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
On every WTT tour, our policies regarding luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of the vehicles we use and the requirement that all travelers be able to manage their own belongings without assistance.
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- You may bring one suitcase plus small shoulder bag/day pack/purse.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach and load it on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient. The possibility of steps exist at most hotel entrances.
How much money should I bring on this tour?
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
