Itinerary
Monday, 31 August 2026: Arrive Providence; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. The tour begins at 6:00pm in the hotel lobby where we will make introductions and then proceed to our Welcome Dinner to become better acquainted. Overnight Providence - 1 night
Tuesday, 01 September 2026: Cranberry Bog Tour; Drive to Falmouth (B,D)
We depart this morning for Cape Cod where our first stop is a visit to a working cranberry farm. Cranberries are a Cape Cod icon and bogs have been a central part of the New England farming landscape for hundreds of years. Our tour of active bog areas introduces us to the history of cranberry production and the distinct culture surrounding bogs. We continue on to Falmouth, considered to be the gateway to Cape Cod and known for its 68-miles of shoreline dotted with white sand beaches. After checking into our hotel, we enjoy dinner together this evening. Overnight Falmouth - 2 nights
Wednesday, 02 September 2026: Martha's Vineyard (B)
Getting there is part of the fun! A 35-minute ride aboard the Island Queen passenger ferry takes us to the Martha's Vineyard village of Oak Bluffs where we are met by a local guide who will usher us beyond the bustling harbor to explore the eclectic history and learn about the lifestyles of the islanders. Back in Oak Bluffs you may wish to visit “The Campground," which includes many of the whimsical gingerbread cottages and the iconic Tabernacle, browse the shops and galleries along Circuit Avenue, or stroll over to Ocean Park to see period homes, the gazebo, and beautiful ocean views. A late afternoon ferry returns us to Falmouth.
Thursday, 03 September 2026: Old King’s Highway to Provincetown (B,L)
Today we meander along historic Route 6A, the Old King's Highway, toward Provincetown—a spirited, salt-washed town at the very tip of Cape Cod where artists, fishermen, and free spirits have long made their home. Along the way we'll seek out lighthouses, glimpse harbors and beaches along the north shore, and pass through some of the oldest settled villages in America. Once in Provincetown, we'll get settled. The rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to explore the colorful streets lined with galleries, seafood shacks, and centuries of stories. “P-Town” was once a key fishing and whaling center but today is best known for its lively and quirky local culture. Overnight Provincetown - 2 nights
Friday, 04 September 2026: Cape Cod National Seashore; Provincetown; Dune Tour (B,D)
We spend part of today in the Province Lands section of the Cape Cod National Seashore - the wild, windswept tip of the Cape, where towering sand dunes roll down to massive Atlantic beaches. It's got an "edge-of-the-continent" feeling. On clear days you might spot whales breaching just offshore. We start at the Province Lands Visitor’s Center with its panoramic views from its observation deck. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. Your Tour Leader will have suggestions. Perhaps you'd like to visit the Pilgrim Monument or explore town. Late this afternoon we regroup for a Dune Tour where we will learn more about the history and ecology of these unique dunes that have inspired so many fine artists and writers. Today promises to be a memorable day!
Saturday, 05 September 2026: Whale Watching Tour; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
This morning we set out on a guided whale-watching tour from Provincetown in search of humpback, finback, and minke whales. The boat will cruise to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary—a protected underwater plateau teeming with marine life—taking in breathtaking views and hoping for close encounters with these magnificent creatures. This afternoon, we take our time heading back to Providence. The journey concludes with a casual Farewell Dinner near the airport. Overnight Providence Airport Area - 1 night
Sunday, 06 September 2026: Return Home from Providence (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Make your return flight at your convenience.

How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.

- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details
How Active is this Tour?
The activities on this tour are rated as follows:
- 65% Easy
- 35% Moderate (walking distances, drive times, stairs)
Your Responsibilities as a Solo Traveler
As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.
WTT tours are not suitable for anyone whose mobility is challenged or compromised. If you struggle with walking, standing or negotiating stairs or if you are in doubt as to your ability to meet the physical activity requirements, you should not sign up for this trip.
What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Leader when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Leader will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Leader.
Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian and gluten-free dietary requests can be accommodated on this tour with limited selections.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
Daytime temperatures are likely to be in the upper 60s to mid 70s with nighttime lows in the 50s. The weather on the coast will be cooler and breezy. New England weather is fickle; be prepared for a range of conditions, including rain.
For This Trip You Will Need—
- Comfortable walking shoes with good tread
- Light rain jacket or windbreaker
- Fleece jacket for cool and windy days
You May Also Want—
- Beach-friendly shoes for our coastal adventures
- Smart-casual wear if you'd like to dress up for dinner
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
We will be using the WTT coach on this tour. The luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations and the requirement that travelers manage their belongings.
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- You may bring one suitcase and a day pack or shoulder bag to keep with you in the coach.
- Maximum suitcase size: 22-24 inches in height. This is the size of bag that fits into the overhead bins of aircraft. Suitcases larger than this will not fit properly in the WTT coach; don't bring them.
- The weight of your bag should not exceed 30 pounds as you will need to lift it into the coach luggage compartment.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach and load it on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient. The possibility of steps exist at most hotel entrances.
How much money should I bring on this tour?
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for tipping waitstaff, porters, or other individuals who provide a service to you at the hotel, or other public locations.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
