Itinerary
Sunday, 26 July 2026: Arrive Calgary; Make your way to Banff; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival to Calgary no later than 2:00pm and take local transportation to the Banff hotel. Relax or go exploring before gathering in the hotel lobby at 6:00pm for our Welcome Meeting. After introductions we will go to dinner to get better acquainted and discuss our upcoming trip. Overnight Banff - 2 nights
Monday, 27 July 2026: Personal Day to Explore Banff (B)
The town of Banff is actually located inside Banff National Park, which covers 2,564 square miles of roaring waterfalls and ice-blue glaciers, meadows full of wildflowers and breathtaking panoramic vistas. The origins of Canada’s first national park date to 1883, when railway builders came across the hot springs. Among the many highlights are hoodoos--incredible sandstone formations that have been shaped by centuries of wind--Surprise Corner and Tunnel Mountain Drive for outstanding views of the Bow River Valley. This day is yours to explore Banff and all the outdoor activities it has to offer. Your Tour Leader will have plenty of suggestions and will help pair up travelers based on interests.
Tuesday, 28 July 2026: Arrive Bobbie Burns Lodge by Helicopter; Afternoon Hiking (B,L,D)
This morning we depart Banff for the Bobbie Burns helipad near Parson, British Columbia. We travel along the Rocky Mountains where wildlife sightings along the way are normal and inspiring. Upon arrival we take a quick, exhilarating helicopter ride to the Bobbie Burns Lodge. After settling into our rooms, we’ll be outfitted with all necessary hiking gear, get acquainted with helicopter safety procedures, and choose hiking groups based on personal desires. Choose intensity levels ranging from gentle walks to rock climbing. Groups are formed on pace, ability and interests. Then we fly up for an afternoon of hiking! We fly back to the lodge in the late afternoon for snacks, beverages and relaxation before dinner. Before retiring, enjoy time by the fire, set up an appointment with the masseuse (not included, but well worth the extra charge), relax in the whirlpool and sauna, or just enjoy peace and quiet on the deck overlooking the stunning views. Overnight Bobbie Burns Lodge - 3 nights
Wednesday, 29 July 2026: Helicopter to/from the Mountain: Pick your Hikes, Soak in the Beauty (B,L,D)
A morning stretch class is an option, but then again, so is sleeping in. After a buffet breakfast, choose from a variety of sandwiches and snacks for a picnic lunch in the mountains. The first helicopter leaves the lodge at around 9:00am. Each group of hikers, accompanied by a guide, will spend the day exploring the immense variety of landscapes in the mountains. Diverse terrain includes forests, alpine meadows, glaciers, canyons, ridge hikes and via ferrata climbs on Mt. Nimbus, making this a mountain-lover's paradise. And everywhere, from every vantage point, are vast, heart-stirring views. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst stunning, utterly unspoiled scenery. After a memorable day, fly back to the lodge where snacks, beverages, a good book or the sauna and restful outdoor whirlpool await. Tonight, we'll enjoy dinner together. After dessert and coffee there will be time for more conversation, relaxation and basking in rays of mountain beauty.
Thursday, 30 July 2026: Helicopter to/from the Mountain: Another Wonderful Day of Hiking (B,L,D)
Today's schedule will be similar to yesterday: breakfast followed by hiking. We return to the lodge feeling exhilarated and then enjoy good food and good company this evening.
Friday, 31 July 2026: Travel from Bobbie Burns Lodge by Helicopter; Travel to Calgary; Farewell Dinner (B,L,R)
Today we say farewell to Bobbie Burns and begin our travels back to Calgary. We will spend the night near the airport for convenience sake and enjoy a Farewell Reception together. We'll recount our adventures of the week and share our favorite memories. Overnight Calgary Airport - 1 night
Saturday, 01 August 2026: Return Home from Calgary
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Depart Calgary at your convenience. Since we are literally in the airport, you need only walk to your gate. No matter when your flight departs you need to allow 2 to 2.5 hours for US security and customs at the Calgary Airport.
This lodge is not exclusive to WTT and will have other guests. The heli-hiking excursions are not exclusive to WTT and will have other guests.

How Does Room Sharing Work?
Traveling Solo? 80% of the women on your tour will be traveling solo!
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.
Note: Certain room-types may be unavailable at the time you make your reservation. If a room-type is unavailable the choice will be greyed out.
- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
A few facts about sharing a room:
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details

- You may bring one suitcase plus small shoulder bag/day pack/purse.
- Your suitcase cannot exceed 40 lbs due to the helicopter's weight limit. You will be traveling to and from Bobbie Burns Lodge via helicopter.

What are the phone and internet recommendations for this tour?
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: the number of meals you are responsible for, the amount of money you like to have on-hand for snacks and drinks and cash needed for tipping.
- Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.
- Canada's official currency is the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
- Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Banff and Calgary and for incidentals at the Lodge.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for Tipping Lodge staff. Tips are pooled and then divided among the entire lodge staff: guides, pilots, mechanics, bakers, chefs and wait staff. Tipping is a personal preference but we suggest $35-$50 per day. Tips can be paid on a credit card when the guests check out of the lodge (preferred) OR in Canadian dollars. It is always a good idea to check whether your credit card will charge you a 3% foreign transaction fee on purchases in Canada.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
