Itinerary
Saturday, 08 August 2026: Arrive Vancouver; Welcome Dinner (D)
Schedule your arrival into Vancouver, British Columbia, no later than 4:00pm and take local transportation to the hotel. The tour begins in the lobby of the hotel at 6:00pm with our Welcome Meeting, followed by dinner to get better acquainted and discuss the upcoming days. Overnight Vancouver - 2 nights
Sunday, 09 August 2026: Capilano Suspension Bridge; Vancouver Sightseeing (B)
Vancouver, British Columbia's largest city and the major port for all of western Canada, is renowned for its scenic beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor activities. We begin this day with a walk on the wild side at Capilano Suspension Bridge, one of the area's most popular attractions. In addition to the suspension bridge over the Capilano River, there are 7 suspended footbridges and a cliffwalk along a granite precipice. Later this afternoon, we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver, taking in many of the neighborhoods that make this city unique.
Monday, 10 August 2026: Travel to Whistler (B,D)
Located in the spectacular Coast Mountains of British Columbia just two hours north of Vancouver, Whistler is Canada’s favorite year-round destination. This picturesque alpine resort has the look and feel of a European mountain village with cozy cafes, boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Our drive will take us along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway and we'll enjoy diverse vistas, everything from downtown Vancouver to stunning mountain views to the impressive cascade of Shannon Falls and the spectacular dome peak of Mount Garibaldi. Upon arrival in Whistler, the afternoon is free to enjoy in this charming village as you wish until we regroup for dinner tonight. Overnight Whistler - 2 nights
Tuesday, 11 August 2026: Whistler Gondola Ride; Free Afternoon (B)
We ride Whistler's Peak 2 Peak gondola which spans the distance between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains for an unparalleled perspective of British Columbia’s rooftop. This gondola is a great feat of engineering; it's the longest unsupported span in the world and highest lift of its kind. The stunning ascent whisks us through towering cedar and fir forests until we reach the top and revel in 360-degree mountain views. But the experience is far from over. Scenic walking trails, mountaintop restaurants, wildlife viewing and indoor interpretive displays are ready for discovery. This afternoon and evening are yours to spend as you wish.
Wednesday, 12 August 2026: Ferry to Vancouver Island and Travel to Victoria (B,D)
Today is a travel day. No visit to British Columbia is complete without a stop in Victoria, the capital of the province. And the best way to get there is by ferry. After a leisurely morning as we wrap up in Whistler, we will drive back to the North Vancouver area to board the ferry at Horseshoe Bay and make our way across to Departure Bay on Vancouver Island. We'll travel from the ferry terminal to Victoria and check in to our Victoria hotel. After time to refresh, we'll have dinner together. Overnight Victoria - 2 nights
Thursday, 13 August 2026: Free Day in Victoria; Sunset Whale Watching Cruise (B)
This morning is yours to explore Victoria, a compact city that is easy and enjoyable to navigate on foot. Established in 1843 as a fort for the Hudson's Bay Company, Victoria's British ancestry is apparent. These strong British ties make for some wonderful shopping or perhaps you'll want to enjoy Afternoon Tea at the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel overlooking the harbor. You may opt to tour the Parliament Buildings or stop in at the highly acclaimed and fascinating Royal BC Museum. Consider a visit to Thunderbird Park, a forest of totem poles as well as the Mile 0 Monument, the origination point of the Trans Canada Highway. Needless to say, you will find more than enough to fill your day and you'll wonder where the time went! Be sure to grab an early dinner on your own before we gather back together to embark on a sunset whale-watching cruise. The departure point for this is within walking distance of our hotel. The most commonly seen whales in these waters include orcas, humpbacks, minkes and the occasional gray whale. We're also likely to see bald eagles, dolphins and porpoises, otters, seals and sea lions.
Friday, 14 August 2026: Butchart Gardens; Ferry to Vancouver; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
After checking out of our hotel, we're off to visit world-famous Butchart Gardens. These gardens began from one woman's desire to beautify the land left scarred by an open pit limestone quarry. They have been owned, tended and expanded since 1904 by the same family and now encompass more than 55 acres establishing one huge flower bowl. We continue on to Swartz Bay Ferry terminal to catch the return ferry to Vancouver. For convenience, we will stay near the airport. This evening, we will enjoy a casual dinner together to say farewell. Overnight Vancouver Airport Area - 1 night
Saturday, 15 August 2026: Return home from Vancouver (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Make your return flight at your convenience. We are staying at an airport-area hotel so consult the front desk about your options on how to get to the airport, a mere 10-minute drive away.

How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.
Note: Certain room-types may be unavailable at the time you make your reservation. If a room-type is unavailable the choice will be greyed out.
- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details

What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day (B,L,D,O=Other). When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Leader will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Leader.

What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
This time of year, daytime temperatures in British Columbia are typically in the mid-70s, dropping to the low 60s at night. Whistler can be quite cool with a brisk breeze, and even in the summer there may be snow at the summit of Whistler mountain. We suggest you monitor weather apps for the most current information.
For This Trip You May Want—
- One smart-casual outfit if you’d like to dress up a bit for dinners.
- Warm fleece jacket for the cool mornings and evenings
- Gloves, hat and scarf for the cooler weather on Whistler mountain
- Sunscreen
- Binoculars
Good Packing Habits—
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping aids, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
On every WTT tour, our policies regarding luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of the vehicles we use, the requirement that all travelers be able to manage their own belongings without assistance and the restrictions imposed by other forms of transportation such as [trains and small planes].
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret when they have packed too much.
- You may bring one suitcase plus a carry-on bag.
- We recommend your suitcase be no larger than 26 inches high as measured from the FLOOR to the top of the retracted handle to make it easy for you to handle yourself.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings from the coach to your room and to bring it back to the coach on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient.
- Steps exist at most hotel entrances. On occasion the coach must unload passengers and luggage some distance from the hotel entrance.
What are the phone and internet recommendations for this tour?
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: whether the country you are visiting is a cash-based society, the number of meals you are responsible for, your individual shopping interests and habits, and tipping expectations.
- Canada’s official currency is the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
- ATMs are typically the best way of obtaining local currency; they are found in most airports and tourist destinations. ATMs of major banks often give much better exchange rates than currency-exchange kiosks.
- If using a debit card, it is good practice to limit the amount of cash available in the account and simply transfer money from another account if you need more at any point on tour. Always use caution when withdrawing money.
- Many travelers feel more comfortable having local currency before they depart for the tour. You may be able to order currency from your bank.
- Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.
- Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted, although many cards charge a foreign transaction fee. Be sure to investigate your card of choice as there are many that do not impose these fees and are better suited for international travel.
- If a merchant gives you the choice between making your transaction in USD or the local currency, always choose the local currency, to avoid dynamic currency conversion which includes a conversion fee.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
- You are responsible for Tipping the In-Country Escort who travels with the group.
- We suggest you read up on tipping culture in the various places you will be visiting so you can show your appreciation for any personal service provided with an appropriate gratuity.
- [Describe tipping norms for the countries visited on this itin]
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
