Tuesday, 22 October 2019: Morning Snow Canyon Walk; Afternoon Birding Excursion (B,L,D)
Right outside our back door a world of outdoor adventures awaits. Red and white Navajo sandstone capped by an overlay of black lava rock makes hiking, biking and photography in the local State and National parks an experience for the senses. The parks are an amazing display of desert animal life, unique botanicals and dynamic rock formations. Bordering Red Mountain, Snow Canyon State Park is home to 7,000 acres of canyons and cliffs, lava caves and two volcanic cones. We begin our adventure with a morning walk. After lunch and time exploring the resort, we'll travel as a group to the Tonaquint Nature Center, a green oasis in the middle of St. George that attracts more than 200 species of birds seasonally.
Wednesday, 23 October 2019: Morning Desert Walk; Afternoon Free Time (B,L,D)
We'll start our day with a walk through the demonstration desert garden in St. George. In this garden, there is a river modeled on the Virgin River that flows through the area. Our walk ends with a short hike across red rock to a high point overlooking the city that offers great views. This afternoon, there will be free time to explore or enjoy the variety of spa options at the resort.
Thursday, 24 October 2019: Morning Nature Hike; Free Afternoon; Lava Tubes (B,L,D)
On today's hike, we take the time to admire the desert scenery with stops for photos and guide interpretations. This afternoon, there are a variety of activities at the resort that might interest you, including fitness classes and lectures or simply relaxing poolside. This evening, we will discover the underground world! We have the opportunity to enter a lava tube during a beautiful sunset and learn about the geologic forces that created this unique feature of Snow Canyon State Park.
Friday, 25 October 2019: Morning Nature Hike; Afternoon Free; Farewell Dinner (B,L,D)
Enjoy another lovely morning on a hike with your fellow travelers. Then, the remainder of the afternoon is free. Perhaps a fitness class appeals to you or pure relaxation...the choice is yours! Tonight, we'll enjoy our Farewell Dinner together.
Saturday, 26 October 2019: Return Home from St. George (B,L,D)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Make your return flight from St. George, UT at your convenience. The resort provides a convenient shuttle to the St. George airport. For This Trip You Will Need—
- Shoes with good traction and ankle support for hiking or walking
You May Also Want—
- Lightweight but warm jacket/sweater for the cool mornings and evenings or the unusually brisk day. Dressing in layers is recommended.
- Sunscreen
- Brimmed hat
- Swimsuit
- Workout clothes
- Aerobic shoes with non-marking soles
- Smart-casual wear if you'd like to dress up a bit for dinners. However, Red Mountain Resort is a very casual atmosphere, relaxed and informal attire is fine.

Good Packing Habits—
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.

- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?

- Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.
