First Time Travelers

Any time you do something for the first time, it’s bound to feel unfamiliar and possibly confusing. At WTT we recognize that when you feel informed and know what to expect, you’ll be more comfortable and confident with your decision to travel with us.

WTT’s Traveler Support System

When WTT was founded more than two decades ago, we instinctively understood the need to individually support each woman as she put her trust in the company and decided to travel with WTT. What resulted is WTT’s Traveler Support System, a time-tested method that gives each woman as much support as she needs to feel comfortable and informed, both prior to and during her travels.

A Personal POC – For Each Tour

At the center of WTT’s Traveler Support System are Program Managers, staff members who are working behind-the-scenes to ensure each tour has all the necessary pieces in place. They are knowledgeable about the tours assigned to them and are available to answer your questions and provide assurance. In short, you have a personal point of contact when you need it.

Regular & Relevant Communications

In addition to sending you a Welcome Email shortly after your reservation has been processed, your Program Manager will continue to email regularly, providing information specific to the needs of the tour. For example, she might remind you of upcoming important dates, provide directions for obtaining necessary travel visas, or convey developments about the destination that may impact the tour.

Preliminary Travel Information

Filled with helpful information, this package is mailed shortly after final payment is collected and helps make your upcoming tour feel real. Included in the package are WTT’s “Checklist to Travel,” an updated packing list, WTT luggage tags, and other useful items needed for the tour. These are all tucked into a folder, which makes a great spot to keep all travel-related papers and information.

Meet Your Tour Leader & Fellow Travelers

About three weeks before your tour departs you will receive your last group communication from your Program Manager. She will use this opportunity to introduce you to your Tour Leader and share traveler-provided details so you can get to know more about the other women on tour. Sadly, your Program Manager won’t be traveling with you, but she is still supporting your tour in the background.

Your Tour Leader’s Role

With only a few weeks left before you depart, your Tour Leader will provide any last-minute instructions and reminders to the group. She will accompany you throughout the tour and becomes your new point of contact for the duration of the tour. She is responsible for managing the needs of the group, working with local suppliers regarding the logistics of the tour, and facilitating the best travel experience she can so you come away with wonderful memories.

We’re on this Journey Together

Traveling unaccompanied does not have to be, and should not be, a solitary experience. WTT has laid a path that takes you easily and comfortably from tour sign-up to tour start. Both your Program Manager and your Tour Leader work hand-in-hand to deliver a great tour. After more than two decades of offering tours for women traveling unaccompanied, we know a thing or two about the kind of support women want.
